How To Prepare For Your Permanent Makeup Appointment With Forever Valentine Beauty:

Microblading Appointment Preparation:

  • We will minimally take away hair. If it falls outside of our guide, we will clean it up. If you normally get waxed or threaded, do so beforehand.

  • Do not wear makeup to your appointment, if you HAVE TO, wear minimal makeup. You may fill your brows in if you want me to see the look you normally go for.

  • If you have a pimple/blemish in the brow area we must reschedule.

  • If you have an active cold sore we must reschedule.

  • You must stop taking any blood thinners 72 hours before the appointment. The more you bleed, the less the ink will penetrate the skin.

  • Discontinue vitamin e and fish oil the week of your appointment.

  • No caffeine or alcohol before your session.

  • Come with clean hair, you cannot wash it for a few days.

  • If you use Botox, it is recommended that you come at least 2 weeks after your last appointment.

  • Cannot currently be taking Accutane. (at least a year without use)

  • Cannot currently use Retin-A or retinol products (must discontinue weeks before)

  • It is recommended that you do not take any sun vacations for at least a week before or after for best results.

  • You cannot exercise the day of the appointment, and then from 7-10 days after.

  • Bring a valid ID.

Scalp Micropigmentation and Hairline Enhancements Appointment Preparation:

  • If you dye your hair, have your last color session be 7 days away from your scheduled appointment. If you have any hair dye stains on your scalp we will have to cancel your appointment and possibly lose your deposit.

  • If you wear your head shaved or very short, Please have it cut or shaved the day prior. It’s highly recommended for those with male pattern baldness to shave their head for the appointment. This reduces the shock of the initial result. It also is easier to see any scars that we may (or may not) want to cover

  • Moisturizing the scalp 3 times a day, for 1 to 2 weeks, prior to our first appointment is encouraged. Also, be mindful not to get sunburn or extreme sun exposure in the weeks leading up to your appointments. Sun Burned or UV-tanned skinned can not be worked on.

  • Castor oil is great if you're doing female SMP or both male and female density treatments. I highly recommended doing a few times a week, at night time, and rinsing it off the next morning, in the weeks prior to your upcoming appointment(s). If you choose to do Castor Treatments, stop 3 days prior to your appointment.

  • For bald or more exposed scalp, Cetaphil is a gentle moisturizer that has no irritants. Use daily leading up to your appointments to help with scalp dryness.

  • Wash your hair the morning of/or the night before your appointment. It will be several days before you will be able to wash and lather your scalp!

  • Please have no excessive sweating 24 hours prior to your appointment

  • Men who wear toupees should stop wearing them 3 weeks prior. This allows the scalp to breathe and has no glue clogging the pores, and hair follicles.

Lip Blushing Appointment Preparation:

  • No alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours

  • No blood thinners

  • If you have a scar on your lip, send a photo before your appointment

  • If you ever had a cold sore, shingles, or herpes simplex for your safety you must take

Valtrex before the procedure, during the procedure, and 7 days after your lip procedure.

  • No Botox and fillers 1 month before or after your lip procedure.

  • Moisturize and exfoliate lips before your appointment

  • Do not come in If your lips are dry, chapped, or split open on the day of your appointment. If you have any of these,  please reschedule.

  • Lip procedure can only change the color of the lips not alter the natural shape.
Take out any lip piercings on the day of your appointment.

Touch-ups are recommended every 2-3 years to prevent fading.

Eyelash Enhancement/Eyeliner Tattoo Appointment Preparation:

  • No eye makeup.

  • No lash extensions

  • No alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your appointment

  • No botox in the eye area 1 month before your appointment

  • No retinol products in the eye area 1 month before your appointment

  • No antibiotics 2 months before your appointment

  • You can’t be pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Eyelash tinting or eyelash curling should be done 48 hours before the procedure.

  • Latisse should be stopped 2 weeks prior to the procedure.

  • Do not wear contact lenses during the procedure.

Saline Lightening Appointment Preparation:

  • KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover it with a band-aid or anything else, leave it open to air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.

  • CLEAN BY BLOTTING AREA with saline 3-4 times a day for the first 3 days, then twice a day thereafter until scabs fall off. No ice.

  • DO NOT SOAK the treated area with water. You can shower as usual but keep the area out of the shower spray as best you can and do not let the area get wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep dry but if you do get it wet, gently pat dry.

  • NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (i.e., no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. Pushing or picking a scab off will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.

  • TREAT THE AREA WITH TLC. DO NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS TO THE TREATED AREA.

  • ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of Vitamin E Oil 3-4 times a day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until the next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Vitamin E Oil UNTIL all scabbing has naturally fallen off. Our goal is to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.

Spray Tan Appointment Preparation:

  • If you really need to take a shower before the appointment, take it 3 hours prior to the session and rinse only

  • Shave, wax, and exfoliate the skin at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. It's important to allow the amino acids to reconstruct as DHA needs amino acids to develop. Also, the pores need time to close before applying the solution. Otherwise, the cosmetic bronzer can get soak into the pores.

  • Exfoliate* the skin 2-4 times.

    • Exfoliation is the MOST important tip to follow in order to achieve an optimal result that will last up to 10 days.

    • The use of a simple exfoliating soap doesn't suffice. A good scrub will allow the elimination of all the dead skin cells and impurities from the body. Pay attention to rough areas like the top of the feet, heels, ankles elbows, armpits, knuckles, collarbones, etc.

    • If the exfoliation hasn't been done properly, the result and/or the fading could be uneven, and the result could disappear prematurely and/or in the form of blots. NUDA products have been designed to fade gradually and evenly when the skin is properly exfoliated. On the contrary, the dead skin cells will be eliminated naturally and leave white spots on the tan.

  • Do not use lotions, oil-based exfoliating products, gels, or waxing shaving creams.
These could leave residue on the skin and deny the solution from developing correctly.

  • Do not wear makeup, cream, sunscreen, perfume, or deodorant

  • Moisturize the skin days prior to the session (not the day of the appointment).

  • The application can be done with or without undergarments or a bathing suit.
